Welcome to L.I.N.E.Lessons In Nature Education or L.I.N.E. exists primarily to support the continued learning processes of wilderness skills education. There is no set schedule of meetings times or locations. Each student meets with the staff and their designated mentor, or mentors, as they are able to arrange their schedule. Students must exhibit a strong passion to learn, the ability to live in the now, and choose to dedicate time in their life to personal mission development and skills education. Working with their mentors and the staff of L.I.N.E. they will build lesson plans, practice communication techniques and push all their skills to the maximum possible levels. They will learn and develop not only physical skills, but also skills of spirit and mind. The first part of L.I.N.E. is Lessons: In Nature Education. What this includes is a variety of walks, hikes, quests and earth connection exercises. During this part of L.I.N.E. you will collect stories and ideas that will help you teach others, as well as deepening your connection with nature and all of the earth. The second section of L.I.N.E. is Lessons In Nature: Education. Though it seems at first glance and thought to be the same as the first section it is not. The key is the first part is all planned exercises, ones that have been tried and tested and found true for all who have experienced them. It gives you a foundation, and a way to rebound your ideas with people who have already experienced the same exercise for themselves. This second section is not based around planned exercises. You will do the choosing of where and when the wanders, survival or vision quests and various earth connection exercises you will do, we will be there to guide you only as you need us. The third division of L.I.N.E. is Lessons in nature education. Here is where you develop your lesson plans, goals, missions and purpose. You will be developing your stories and ideas that you have gathered using the first two sections of L.I.N.E. You will work on presentation techniques, public speaking skills and development of your own teaching style. The final part of L.I.N.E. is the hard skills. Not that the skills are all hard, just that they form a solid foundation. The skills are in no particular order, they will be given as needed or requested. From practical living skills of shelter, to the philosophical skills of a true warrior, all will be explored. If you would like to become a participant of L.I.N.E. or you have any skills that you would be willing to share, teach or mentor someone in, send me an e-mail to the address at the bottom of the page. |
